Absolutely necessary
2 years ago I converted over to wet tumbling. As I left in another review it cleans the case is so effectively that you have to pay attention to which cases you have annealed and which ones you have not. It is that effective on cleaning the cases. The only downside is having to deal with the little steel pins. That's why you need one of these magnets and they work very well.
