The adjusting screw quickly and easily sets the desired amount of crimp. Trim Length is not critical so this extra operation takes less time than it would if cases were trimmed and chamfered. A firm crimp is essential for dependable and accurate ammunition, as it eliminates the problems of poor ignition of slow burning magnum powders.

I bought this die to use with the Lee Bulge Buster accessory. When used together, these items resize every case or loaded round down to nominal dimensions, which then are perfectly sized to fit any matching chamber. They ALL fit the case gage after sizing, and I have no doubt of their usability in any of my 40 S&W handguns.
